Amos 8

Father, you will save your people no more.  You will never forget what your people have done.  You will send through a famine of the word of the Lord.  Your people will not find it.

I have certainly wronged you, Lord.  You will never forget what I have done to you.  I pray that I may never again experience a famine of your Word.  Your Word is the true source of life for me.  I long to dwell on your Word and its guiding presence in my life.

I think you for the hope you have extended to me through your Word and the revelation of your Son, Jesus Christ.

Amos 6

Father, woe to those who are complacent.  I pray that I may not be complacent in my relationship with you.  I pray that my relationship with you may be every present in my life and not relegated to a second class standing with respect to priorities in my life.  I pray that my desire and passion for the strength of our relationship will remain fervent all the days of my life.

Lord, you abhor the pride of his people.  I pray that I will always keep you first in my life.  May I remain ever vigilant and may you help me realize when I am placing something els in my life before you.  I look to you, Lord for your help and guidance.  Help me keep you first in my life.  Thank you Lord.

Amos 5

Father, seek and live.

Seek the Lord and live.  Lord, may I seek you with all of my heart.  May my intentions  be honest, may my resolve be firm in establishing and maintaining my relationship with you.

You know my offenses and sins.  Help me Lord to deal with my faults and short comings.  May I be ever mindful how those conditions drive a wedge between you and me.  May I seek good and not evil in my life.  As evil rears its ugly head, I pray that you may make me aware of the enemy’s presence and assist me in confronting and overcoming his charges against me.

Father, I do thank you for your continuous presence guidance, and help in my life.

Amos 4

Father, how distant can I feel from you?  How much have I wronged you in my sin?

Prepare to meet your God; he who makes the mountains.  I do not deserve to be spared from my wrong-doing against you.  Every form of disaster is befitting of me.

But, it is in you Lord that I have hope.  My hope rests in you even in the midst of my difficulties.  I thank you for your graciousness in the midst of the wrongs I have done against you.

Lord, you are truly in command of this world and all that it has to offer.  In this fact I can find hope, knowing that you are in control.  All that is occurring is doing so for a purpose and reason, and it will ultimately a occurring for your good will and purpose.  I thank you for that and the hope and grace that you extend to us through the revelation of your Son Jesus Christ.

Amos 3

Father, you have chosen me.  In that choice there is responsibility.  I pray that I may not stray from the work that you intend for me in my life.

I pray that I may walk with you in companionship; knowing that you are in full control of all things in this world.

I pray that I may rely on your word and its instruction for my life.  Your Word is a lamp to my feet and a light unto my path.

Amos 2

Father, your wrath will be poured out on those who sin against you.  There is no one who is not deserving of being spared from the divine judgment.

Much will be required of those whom much has been given.  Father, through my life may I help those who are oppressed, may I be open to the needs of the poor, may I not be unfair to the righteous.

In the midst of the judgment, your graces are made known to your people.  Through your Son, your grace is given to all your people.

Amos 1

Father, your voice thunders forth.  I have sinned against you.  I confess my sin to you.  How I turned my back on you and refused to accept your presence in my life was such an unpardonable thing to do.

Everything I have done against you deserves nothing but the justice that you have the right to wield.  You will not turn back your wrath.  You are certain in your justice towards all.

Father, I thank you for your persistence in pursuing me.  I cannot begin to show my gratitude to you for touching my heart and calling me to you.  I thank you for the saving grace made available only through the saving grace of Jesus Christ.

Genesis 50

Father, you intend all for good.  Just as Joseph was shunned, ostracized, enslaved, and imprisoned, his hardships were ultimately intended for good.  They were endured by him to carry you your will even though he did not know at the time.

I pray that I may have the wisdom and foresight to comprehend that what is happening in my life, ultimately has a purpose for your will and desire for my life.  Even though I may not understand how everything fits together, I pray that I will not be overcome by doubt and despair.  Because my hope is in you, I will not be afraid.

Genesis 49

Father, you have plans for my life; for me very being.  May I always have the resolve to stand firm in your way for me.  Even though I may not know your desire for me, may I stay the course on the path you have set my on.

I pray that I may I draw from your Word as the basis for your direction in my life.

Your divine blessings will flow to your people.  I thank you for all the blessings you have given to me.  You are a gracious and loving God.
