Genesis 37

Father, you make the most of difficult situations.  It is you who knows and works all things to their rightful end.  Who am I to second guess or question why it is you ‘allow’ things to happen in my life?  Who am I to place my own knowledge and understanding above you will?  What higher form of idolatry can there be?

Father, in difficult or uncertain situations, may I rest in the confidence of your divine intervention for me and my life.  May I not be anxious in the details of this life, but may I be more than willing to endure the events of this life, resting in the confidence of your undying faithfulness and love for me.

Father, help me to rest in anxiety, uncertainty, and difficulties; for you are with me in each of these situations.  You are with me.  What greater comfort and assurance can their be?

Genesis 35

Father, may I always put you first in my life. May my life be my form of worship to you; the first fruits of my labors.

You are the Lord God Almighty.  May I never forget the fact that you are in fact the Almighty.  There is no greater than you.  You are above all.  Your majesty surpasses all understanding.  Let me not try to put my own words to you and your abilities.  Every time I do, I will limit you.  May I never limit you, but simply praise you for who you are.

Father, you are faithful in all your promises and in all your ways.  You constantly and continuously fulfill all your promises to your people.  It is your desire they every person should come to that close and personal relationship with you.  You will not stop pursuing your people even to the end of time.  It is you who are pursuing us.

Genesis 34

Father, mankind’s ways are not your ways.  As humans, taking things into our own hands can be a very risky things because our ways are not your ways.  Was the destruction of these peoples in God’s plan or not?  Was this your desire for Simeon and Levi to attack and kill all of them?

Father, may I not be indifferent to the occurrences around me, through your prompting, may I be engaged in the events that you desire me to pursue and disengaged from those you do not.  May I not be lukewarm in my position on the in the events that surround my life.

Genesis 33

Father, if I have found favor in your eyes, accept this gift from me.  Lord, may my gifts to you not be a matter of my ability, as a testament to who I am and what I have done.  May my offering be a testament of my thanksgiving to you.  May my life be an offering of thanksgiving to you.

Lord, you have been gracious to me.  I pray that I may always be mindful of your graciousness in my life.  I do not deserve anything that has been granted me.  My life is a testament to what you have done for me.  May I be ever mindful of that and never forget all that you have done for me.

Genesis 32

Father, I am unworthy of all the kindness and faithfulness you have shown me.  I am placed in difficult, even impossible situations, but you are with me.  In the midst of crisis situations you are there to support and help me.

You guide me and direct me.  You are with me every step of the way.  Father, I am grateful for your presence in my life.  May I never lose sight of the fact that you are ever present in my life.  There is not a moment where you are not with me.  Present in all of life’s challenging situations.  Thanks you Lord.

Genesis 30

How interesting it is that Jacob (the liar, schemer, and the one who married for love) is the one who have the most unhappy of marriages of the patriarchs.  Even though he was receiving the fulfillment of the promise, his life became a testament to the actions at the beginning of his life.  He had to live with the hand he was dealt.

Father, you fulfill your promises to your people.  You are unwavering in your commitment to your people in doing what you say you will do.

May I never doubt your ability to do a mighty work in my life.  You will do what you say you will do.

Genesis 29

Father, may I be aware of your direction in my life.  You are always a work in my life; guiding, directing. May I be sensitive and open to your leading and direction throughout each day.

Father, it is your grace that is over me and provides protection in my life.  In my own thinking and belief, may I not supplant your grace with other fabrications on my part.  You are ever present in my life and touch my life in ways I can scarcely imagine.  Your grace extends to every facet of my life and my being.

Genesis 28

Father, all nations on earth will be blessed by you.  Even though Jacob was a liar and deceitful, you were true is keeping your promise and blessing to your people.

Lord, you are in this place.  You are with your people.  You are with me.  May I never lose sight of the fact that you are with me at every point in my life.  It is I who lose sight of you.  You are always with me.

May I never forget that the moments of my personal crisis may be the opportunity for deep personal relationship with you.  You will be with me, you will not abandon me.  Youe will be with me through all situations.

May my vow to you be sincere.  I am totally dependent on you, Lord.  You are the steadfast, the rock in my life.  I must rely on you in all things.  I should not rely in my own dealings.  I should rely on your promise.

Genesis 27

Father, may I be forthright and honest in all my ways.  May I look to you with clear mind and conscience in my thoughts and prayer to you.  May all of my motives be pure in my devotion and prayers to you.

Lord, you will work your plan and your blessing through your people.  Regardless of how the plan unfolds through humanity’s own efforts, you will direct the unfolding of that plan and the fulfillment of your promise and blessing.

Father, may I not be deceived through my blindness.  May I have sight to see you clearly in every respect.
